Changes due to the coronavirus

Concurrent to the national lockdown due to the coronavirus, Runavík municipality has taken the following steps to avoid the spread of the virus.

Elderly care - Roðin:
To avoid the spread of the coronavirus, all activity in Bylgjan and the Skála sports hall are cancelled.

Daytime offerings at Skála and Eysturoyar Røktar- og Ellisheim are cancelled. Only urgent visits are advised at Vesturskin, Sjóvarlon and Eysturoyar Røktar- og Ellisheim.

Glyvra skúli, Oyndarfjarðar skúli, Skála skúli and Skúlin við Løkin:

All schools are closed until 27 March. Updated information is available at www.rks.fo and www.skalaskuli.fo.

The við Løkin Library will close for two weeks.

Daycare centres will close for the next two weeks. Emergency care is available. Contact your local daycare centre for details.

Administrative staff
Administrative staff will continue working as usual and are available by phone and email.
Lambareiði roadworks continue as normal.

Runavík harbour
The first cruise ship is scheduled for 2 July, and a decision will be made in due course.

Trips abroad
All Runavík municipality staff are advised to abstain from any activities abroad. Staff arriving from abroad are advised to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Recycling areas are open as usual.

Committee meetings will be held in accordance to plan. Runavík town council’s meeting will be held on 26 March.
